Tar & Chip Paving

A natural, textured surface made with hot liquid asphalt and stone chips — great for long driveways, private roads, and rural properties.

A durable alternative to blacktop

Tar-and-chip (also called chip seal) gives you a hard, weather-resistant surface without the cost of full asphalt paving. It’s especially popular for longer driveways and private lanes where you want a finished look and better traction.

How tar & chip works

We apply a layer of hot liquid asphalt, then immediately spread clean stone chips over the surface and roll it in. The stone locks into the asphalt and creates a tight, durable mat.

  • Multiple stone colors available
  • Good traction for hills and curves
  • Handles Tennessee heat well
  • Lower cost than full asphalt paving

Great for rural properties

If you have a long driveway, farm lane, or shared private road, tar-and-chip gives you a tidy, low-maintenance surface that blends with the surroundings.

Service Area

Nashville, Murfreesboro, Columbia, Franklin, Spring Hill, and surrounding Middle Tennessee areas.

Ideal For

Long residential driveways, estates, ranches/farms, private streets, and light commercial drives.

Licensed & insured • Local crews • 30+ years

Not every driveway needs a full asphalt section. Tar-and-chip is a smart middle ground between plain gravel and blacktop — you get a finished surface, fewer washouts, and a more attractive entrance to your property. Our crew grades and prepares the base, addresses drainage, and then installs the chip seal so it bonds well. With the right prep and maintenance, tar-and-chip can serve Tennessee properties for many years.
